Rod Black

Rod Black

Rod Black is a cross between Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert. No stranger to Southern Rock & Country. Rod, formerly of Jet Black Stare, grew up listening to all the greats.

From Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash, to the Southern Rock pioneers Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rod found himself tracking down every album he could get his hands on.

For Rod, it’s about making people feel connected and staying true to the song. He looks to challenge himself as a songwriter while delving even deeper into his southern rock & country roots. His radio single “KEEPIN ON” is doing outstanding in Canada and the USA.

When the opportunity came for Jet Black Stare to sign with Island/Def Jam in 2007, Rod teamed up with Vancouver producer Gordini and songwriter/producer Jeff Johnson. The result was an album that one reviewer referred to as an “infectious medley of soul, passion, and most of all, honesty.”

Rod has toured with such bands as Shinedown, Hinder, Staind, Three Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Saliva, Saving Abel and countless other National Acts.
